I aim to make the case for command line operations, to explain why they are inherently more powerful, flexible, and speedy than point-and-click interfaces when used appropriately for most tasks, and to help visitors to become familiar with the patterns and methodology behind the example commands.
With time, I hope to provide a good introduction to computing in the unix command line world, where small, single-function programs can be grouped together to make powerful, flexible, and reusable pieces of command line script that make life easier. As my visitors grow in their familiarity, they will be able to save time, eye strain, and keystrokes by applying what they’ve learned here to problems they come up against every day.
